Concrete can be secured in many forms and used for many creative purposes. Ready mix concrete, which requires only the addition of water, is the simplest to use. It is ideal for small jobs but becomes quite expensive when big projects are undertaken. Transit-mix concrete is delivered to you in revolving barrel trucks. This is the simplest and easiest way to buy concrete for large projects. However, you obviously have to pay for the delivery of the concrete and the convenience of premixing.
When you are building a shed, garage or concrete patio you need to build forms. Below is a chart for area with the cubic yards of concrete in slabs of various thicknesses.

Frost is not a friend of concrete. Most concrete installations for driveways and walkways need joint expansions which help to prevent cracking. Re-bar or wire mess and the type of concrete mix used can also be helpful with increasing the strength and toughness of the concrete and decreasing the chances of it cracking.
